A New Chapter: Beyond the Shop Floor

Lowland Summer has always been about celebrating craftsmanship, but lately, I’ve had a real itch to show you more of the making side of things.

Last year was a foundational time for us. We spent our energy inward, focusing on finding our core brand values and making sure the business was on steady ground. But as we move into this new year, we’re shifting our focus towards connection. We really want to get to know you all a bit better, from our customers and fellow makers to the lovely community around us.

We’ve realised that the creative process, with the messy desks, ink-stained hands, the fiddly moments of trial and error, is often just as interesting as the final product on the shelf. Because of that, we want to start sharing the bits behind the scenes. We’ll be documenting the story of how we get there, capturing the highs and lows through words and film.

We love seeing how other people live their lives in different creative ways; it’s a constant reminder that there are so many ways to walk your own path. We really hope that by sharing our perspective, you’ll find this a relaxing, interesting, or even slightly inspiring place to hang out.

The start of the year has been lovely and busy. We’ve started filming everything from travel vlogs to cycling tours, and I’ve even been playing around with some RISO prints for a local competition. We’ve also begun connecting with other creative souls for future collaborations that we can’t wait to share with you.

There are so many ideas in the pipeline, and we are incredibly excited to get stuck in and take you along for the journey.

Meet the Big Boss

Before I go, I’ve got to introduce you to the true Big Boss of Lowland Summer. If you’ve ever wondered about the inspiration behind our logo, here he is in his full, festive glory. Ding is the one who really runs the show (usually by demanding treats while I'm trying to work!). He thought it was about time he said a proper hello to everyone.
